With the new Valentines rage just being released I had to review my favorite products from the lush Christmas range 2017. There were some old favorites and some new ones. Cristingle Body Conditioner- Just thinking about this minty body conditioner gives me chills. I stocked up on this lovely cooling sensation. I can’t get enough. It’s amazing on its own but even better for bath cocktails. Warning this contains menthol so it does make you freezing cold. If you have a cold, suffer from migraines or body aches this is your go to! I cannot live with out this in my bathroom!

Twilight Shower Gel- I get sleepy just thinking about this amazing shower gel. Another staple in my collection. As someone who suffers from insomnia I cannot live without twilight shower gel, sleepy lotion, twilight solid perfume, twilight body splash… you get the idea! This intoxicating lavender and vanilla will have you falling into dreamland before you know it. I am seriously in love with this purple masterpiece. For us that stay up all night, this will help not only sleep better but make bath time 10000 times better.

Santa’s Christmas Shower Cream- This shower cream will have you not only wanting to jump into Santa’s sleigh but wanting to chug some vanilla coke. I couldn’t believe how similar they smelled, like a spicy vanilla coke. Since it is a shower cream it leaves the skin more moisturized and is perfect for winter. I was pleasantly surprised by this refreshing new Christmas staple and will be using it even in the summer months.

Snow Fairy Shower Gel- I could not get the top on this sugary scented sparkly gel fast enough when I first got my hands on it. As you can see I have the 500 ml bottle. So naturally I gave it another try in a bath cocktail and it started to grow on me. So much pink cotton candy scented sparkles in one big bottle ! You can say I have a love hate relationship!

Snow Fairy Body Conditioner- After falling for the pink sugary shower gel I couldn’t help myself and grab the matching body conditioner. This bad gal holds in so much moisture and the scent lasts so much longer than the shower gel. I thought it was going to be way too sweet of a scent but it really does blend well and makes skin feel sooo soft. Say good-bye to rough spots and hello to cotton candy smooth skin.

Man on The Moon Bubble Bar- Can you say the most adorable bubble bar ever made? So I am biased towards neroli scents, he was already a winner in my book. This is a bright citruis-neroli blend and is a perfect pick me up for when you are in a funk. I tried him out and I couldn’t help but fall in love! I have about 15 in my lush collection now. The amount of bubbles that come from this one little guy is unbelievable! Not only crazy bubbles but I did feel this bar did soften up my skin. This massive mustache wearing fellow might be my new favorite bubble bar…

Green Waters, Stronger Messages

Now a days we are all caught up in technology we don’t take a minute to step back and take a minute to stop and enjoy life. I am totally guilty of this, so yes include me. We are all glued to our phones, tablets, computers, video games,  whatever our vice is we all have one. It is so crazy to think just 20 years ago we didn’t have most of these devices, what did we do back then?

bug splatWhy am I starting with all of this you may ask, in the Lush Kitchen they have a bath bomb that invokes these thoughts. Bugsplat as it’s called comes with an insert that reads “Welcome to the Drone Age” When I first got this bath bomb I couldn’t put it back in the box fast enough, all I could pick up was this strong smell. As you drop it in the bath it definitely mellows out.  It has the same scent as the bug perfume with sandal wood, pepper, and elemi. What drew me to this bath bomb was all the money you spend of this bad boy is donated to Reprive to help fund their campaign against drone strikes.  A good cause and my own lagoon ? I’m sold.

What pairs with such a spicy scent you may ask? A soft floral, and since I have been binge watching season 1 of Game of Thrones I have no better match than Ghost Shower Gel. This is one of my favorites it also has a matching jelly, it is a thick shimmery white shower gel. Ghost is a very soft floral, yet lingers on the skin for hours.  The jasmine sticks out more than the rose. However, it is not as strong as sex bomb or flying fox. If you like florals you will love this guy. My skin was so soft after this bath, I don’t know if it was the orchid infusion from Ghost or from soaking in Bugsplat for so long. I am like seriously softer than a baby!

SHEA BUTTER that is all

Shea butter or Butyrospermum Parkii if we are being scientific is an off white fatty substance obtained from the nuts of the shea tree mainly from West Africa. Did you know that Cleopatra used shea butter in her beauty routine? If its fit for a queen it’s fit for me. Most of us know of this gift from the earth because it is typically used in natural skin care products. Raw and unrefined shea butter is rich in oleic acids, vitamin E and vitamin A. It also has high amounts of fatty acids. Studies show not only does it help reduces inflammation but it also has some of the same anti-tumor promoting benefits that cinnamon has. Who doesn’t want baby soft skin at the end of the day?

But why shea butter you ask?

Raw shea butter is a great ingredient because it hydrates and helps the skin glow. it helps provide hydration to the skin, keeping it soft. Shea butter also helps reduce wrinkles and boost collagen and cell regeneration. Do you have a dry scalp or hair? you guessed it more shea butter! It works much like coconut oil, seals in moisture conditioning the scalp alleviating dandruff, leave on for 20-30 minutes rinse then shampoo and condition like normal. Perfect to help eliminate that itchy winter skin, or to prevents wind burn. Shea butter naturally has a SPF of 6. It is a much healthier choice than sunscreen. Brace yourselves this is my favorite one because I am proof of this, of course nothing is over night, reduces the appearance of stretch marks and scarring. It took a few months of applying every night but stretch marks gone. Prevents diaper rash for babies because of its anti-inflamitory and antifungal properties. It’s pretty damn awesome.

If list are more your style heres 5 more reasons why you should be using shea butter every day:

  1. Can enhance the elasticity of your skin, some even say it helps with cellulite.
  2. Can help with those pesky bags under your eyes.
  3. Useful as skin lotion, can be mixed with essential oils, has SPF of 6.
  4. Can be used daily to reduce inflammation, eczema and psoriasis.
  5. Using it as a primer or foundation for your make up will not only hydrate dry skin but will help make up pop but will help it last longer. (be careful if you have acne prone or oily skin it may clog pores)

If that’s not enough for ya I don’t know what is baby.

You can find shea butter at your local health food store. Always look for unrefined and organic.

Hope Gone Viral

via Discover Challenge: Hope Gone Viral

This post really got to me. Hope is everywhere. Quoting starwars, no spoilers “we are built on hope” I feel without hope we have nothing. Especially now with all the bad going on in the world, not just in the United States, all we have is hope. Hope is every where we just have to open our eyes.

As an epileptic 24-year-old living in Miami that cannot drive working full-time living at home with her parents aka “room mates” running a blog and a business part-time its easy to feel hopeless. Being sick so young is not fun, especially not having a car. Having anxiety doesn’t help. Living in Miami is a blessing and a curse. Like I said hope is all around us we just have to look!

I have hope that I will soon have my car and be able to drive. I have hope that I will overcome my anxieny one step at a time. I am inspired by my mother who last year was able to overcome breast cancer. She is still fighting everyday, she gives me hope to overcome anything. She is just one example of hope being right in front of our eyes. We can take everything for granted.

Amazon what we use to order literally everything, they now give you the option to donate to a cause. Just use Amazon Smile and choose what cause speaks to you. Each time you make a purchase you will donate to the cause of your choise. I chose ASPCA and I couldn’t be happier to donate each time I order. No matter how small anything you do helps. That is hope.

We are the hope. We can inspire hope. As writers, as readers is it our duty to bring hope to our community. Hey I’m not saying to go out of your comfort zone. Every little bit can help. With all the bad things going on be the good you want to see in the world. Hope is what we need.
