Sesame Suntan Lotion

Summer is a time for endless beach days, tanning by the pool, and non-stop sunshine. When I think of sun I think tanning! My go to sun tan lotion is Lush’s Sesame Suntan Lotion, once you try it you won’t go back to anything else. This luxurious sunscreen lotion has a SPF of 10 and is safe for vegans. This lotion not only protects you from the sun but moisturizes your skin at the same time. Scented like sesame your mouth will be watering, weird I know. The cocoa butter and aloe will have your skin begging for more.

The sesame oil, aloe vera extract, and cocoa butter will have you feeling refreshed even in the hottest of sun. The nutty lotion will leave your skin soft even after your day of fun in the sun. Best part is you will be sun-kissed without being burned.

The only thing about this lotion is that it does remind me of Chinese food. Now normally I wouldn’t mind but while tanning this could be kinda weird. When using this with my aunt we could not help but think of that Seinfeld episode when Kramer uses butter to tan. Yes I am a HUGE Seinfeld fan. I am not sure if this made me love the tanning lotion more or less. Thanks pop culture!

So I know summer is almost over for most, but I had this saved in my drafts and never posted it ! Oops! Lucky for us Floridians we experience summer all year round!

Bubbles on Bubbles

So I attempted to film a bath bomb demo and take some photos and that resulted with the death of my iPhone 6s. Welcome to team android.  Needless to say I am determined to review my beloved Smargadine Bubble Bath! Since this was my second attempt I decided go big, so for this bath cocktail we are going double boubles! I am adding and reviewing the flowering tea reusable bubble bar.
This bad boy who literally means emerald in Greek, was released in the lush kitchen a few weeks ago. It is a blend of patchouli, peppermint, lavender, and sandalwood this thick dark green bubble bath turns your water a light green color. The best part is it’s vegan. Your bathroom will smell like a minty forest. The bubbles will speak for themselves!

This giant tea bag is filled with blue corn flowers, and scented with rosewood oil, neroli, and orange. This bath dunk is so skin softening and has the most beautiful surprise with the blue petals bursting out. This was a floral yet orange scent. The best part is it’s reusable, you can get more than one use out of it! That’s right 1-3 uses. Lot’s of bubbles and milky glittery water? Yes please !

So this double bubble mix was bursting with bubbles. This cocktail was a match made in heaven. The forest in a bottle could use some florals and the flowering tea is bursting at it’s seams. The two came together for a refreshing and calming bath that I highly recommend.

Bubblegum Lip Scrub Review

bubblegum lip scrub

Lip Scrub: Lush Bubblegum 25g       Price: $9.95

So I have recently started using matte lipsticks, but there’s one thing standing in my way DRY LIPS. Kylie Jenner makes those smooth lips look so easy. I tried all the so called tricks and nothing compares to the Lush lip scrubs. I know what your thinking $9.95 for a lip scrub? But hey they last forever and they get rid of dry lips before applying lipstick and left over stains of remaining lip stick.

What sets this scrub apart is the matching flavor and sweet smell of bubblegum. It instantly took me back to my middle school days walking around with my lip smackers. However this bad boy is a castor sugar scrub with bubblegum flavoring. It is rough enough to easily remove excess skin from the lips leaving them smooth and ready for lipstick application, without being too much and making lips raw. You can either rub it off with your finger or lick it off. Beware once you get a taste it is addictive! I heard of a girl who buys one for her lips and one to eat, I DO NOT RECOMEND EATING THAT MUCH SUGAR!

Rating: 4/5  Lush Lip Scrubs

The only reason I gave it a 4/5 is because it is a small bottle for the price. It does last forever though. Above before applying my matte lipstick I used my go to lip scrub. It makes matte lipstick 500 times easier. As you can see it glides on smoothly. Matte lipsticks were my biggest nightmare, now not so much.

Skin Care, You Should Care

Every one has a skin care routine, even those of you who say I don’t have one. I didn’t realize it until recently how bad I was treating my skin. It does not have to take hours, taking care of your skin has nothing to do with make up. Just a few steps can change the look of your skin and in the long run you will appreciate it! We are young now but no one wants to old and saggy one day. Once you get to know your skin you will fins the perfect products and routine for yourself. It took some trial and error and a lot of disciplining myself to get into the habit but here is a look into my skin care routine.

The most important part of any skin care routine is WATER! Drink it up. Start with the recommended 8 glasses but if you feel like you can use more go for it! No matter what skin type you have water, water, water. Drinking water will help even out your skin tones and texture. Not only your skin but body will love this.

A handy-dandy face wash is always important. When we go out into the world on a daily basis we get all the dirt and grime into our pores, we need something to get it out. My go to product is the NYX STRIPPED OFF WHIPPED CHARCOAL CLEANSER . It comes out grey and a whipped cream texture, but lathers out to white. This product contains activated charcoal so it is great for pulling everything out of your pores. I do not find that it is too harsh on my sensitive skin.

For when we don’t have time to wash our faces but we need to freshen up, you know it, toner. I think everyone should have a good toner on hand. As a lush lover my go-to toner is BREATH OF FRESH AIR . It contains sea water and aloe vera to cleanse and soothe the skin. Perfect for after the gym or for when on the run. I sometimes use this after my make-up remover to clean up whatever gunk is left behind.

What is a skin care routine without a good moisturizer? I apply my mine every night before I go to bed. It was very hard for me to find a moisturizer that worked for me. I tried serval samples some from Sephora and some from Lush before I found the one that worked for me. Best advice i have is don’t be shy and ask for help. If it wasn’t for one of the lush employees I wouldn’t have found this life saving product. So I freaked out at the price but it has helped with my combination skin and no break outs! So my go to product is GORGEOUS . The evening primrose oil must be the secret, or maybe the honey water. Damn lush somehow you got me again.

I do not wear makeup daily but I do like my face to look matte. This skin elixir wakes me up every morning with my cup of coffee. My go to is NYX TEA TREE BALANCE PRIMER . Although it says primer it can be used with or without makeup. I usually apply it with out make up on my way to work for that extra glow aka I didn’t just wake up. It does smell like tea tree but since I use it in the morning it tends to be like a wake up call.

Last but not least what is a skin care routine without a face mask? Now I have expressed my love for clay before so of course I am choosing a clay face mask. Did I just mention I love tea tree, yeah that too. Check out STARDUSTFUNK MERMAID FACE MASK . I use this usually when I need to relax and unconnect from the world. Slab some on for about 20 minutes or as long as a bubble bath and wash that sucker off. This mask contains sea clay, tea tree, and geranium so it does wonders for your face while smelling earthy and floral. Once washing off my skin I follow-up with a moisturizer.

That’s a look into what I do on the daily. I have seen my face go from blah to glow up in just a few weeks. I’m not one for lot’s of make up but I do want to take care of my skin. I have been getting compliments from everyone lately and it does feel good tbh.  SELF LOVE//CARE IS IMPORTANT. If you start when your young you won’t regret it when your older!

Metamorphosis, Lord of Misrule, and Damaged Lush Reviews

purple bath

So after a long  week of partying the best thing to do for your body is load up with water and relax. My favorite way to relax is with a good bath and pamper myself. After all the pool parties and the humid weather of Miami spring break took a toll on me. I could definitely use some time to spoil myself. This week I choose a hair treatment and some muscle soothing bath products all from Lush.

Everyone has their own way of taking care of themselves, some prefer to go to the nail salon others like me can sit in a bath tub for hours. Different products can have different effects on your mood. For examples some bath bombs can help with sleep, while some like the one I chose for this bath can help sooth muscles. I needed some relief after all that dancing! As for my hair treatment I chose one from lush as well, after the pools and beach and usual bad shit I put it through I decided it was time to show it some love and chose the one that sounded most appropriate.

rating: 4/5

This quite odd looking bath bomb is metamorphosis, don’t let it’s grey exterior fool you. The inside is packed full of colors. Once the silver exterior melts away is when the colors really start to pop. It’s round but has a texture on it. The smell is just divine quite spicy, and it lingers for hours. Spicy but in the most subtle way possible. I would recommend this for when you are feeling sore or a bit under the weather. This is also good if you just aren’t into the fruity scents.

rating 5/5

This is a Lush classic scent Lord of Misrule. I love it, spicy, earthy and sweet. This is a green shower cream that will leave your skin soft and feeling moisturized. It is not as spicy as metamorphosis but they are in the same scent family. This can be used as a unisex shower cream. I recommend that everyone own a bottle of LOM at home.

rating 2/5

So after spring break and dying my hair I thought it could use some TLC. I went ahead and ordered the Damaged hair treatment. Let me start by saying I have a lot of long thick hair so I thought this little lollipop looking thing was not going to melt out to cover my hair. Boy was I wrong. There was enough to last me two treatments! The only problem is they must be used fresh. I just melted it down per the instructions on the paper and stirred with the wood thing that’s actually a spoon (COOLEST PART) and globbed it on my hair. The reason I didn’t give it a higher review is due to the fact of the smell, it was gross. I had to add my own lavender essential oil to be able to bear it. After I washed it with normal shampoo it left my hair AMAZING. It did take a while to wash it out.  But after the abuse I put my hair through it needed some lovin.

After me spoiling myself here is a picture of the ultimate spoil a pink drink from Starbucks. No filter so you can see the results of the Damaged hair treatment. More reviews and what not coming at you keep up on twitter and instagram! @stardustfunk

My First Lush Review, Blackberry and Blue Skies

bomb and bubble bar

So like most lush addicts I have started and can’t get enough. When i think of Lush i remember being a kid and walking by the store and just smelling everything with my mom holding my hand. Now that I am old enough to buy “the smelly stuff” it’s dangerous because I want everything. So join me on my journey of reviewing the amazing lush products from Lush Cosmetics, Lush UK, and the Lush Kitchen. This is my first review on two of the products from the regular line available year round.

blackberry bomb

backberry bath bomb ingredients

The first product I am going to review is the Blackberry Bath Bomb. Don’t judge a book by its cover when it comes to this bath bomb. While it may not produce the craziest bath art, you are in for a little surprise, it does release the most mesmerizing scent. The best way to describe it is a musky-sweet scent, and no it does not smell like blackberries. The main scents are bergamot and frankincense. The scent will linger for hours. Not too strong and not to fruity, perfect for relaxation and disconnecting from the world. I used this bomb before bed, having anxiety and insomnia this helped me drift into dreamland.

blue skies and fluffy clouds ingredients

The second product I am reviewing is the Blue Skies and Fluffy Clouds Bubble Bar. (pictured on the top)I tend to bath cocktail and thought these two would go good together since they have similar ingredients and smell quite musky. I only used the tip of this massive frankincense, cinnamon, and patchouli bubble bar. It smelled much stronger out of the bag but mellowed out once crumbled into the bath. It created giant bubbles and added a blue tint to my already purple water. The scent was not too strong and blended well with the blackberry bath bomb. This added to my already relaxing bath, I mean who doesn’t love bubbles?

I now know not to leave lush without at least one Blackberry Bath Bomb. I highly recommend it, I give it a 4/5 stars because it is simple but that scent puts it over the top!!! It really helped me wind down after a stressful day. I will keep the surprise inside a secret for you to find! The Blue Skies and Fluffy Clouds Bubble Bar is massive and has a more herby scent. I recommend it, and give it 4/5 stars because of its size. This bar is for those who aren’t into the fruity blends.

PS. to go with my purple bath and take the relaxation a notch I used the stardustfunk unicorn facemask that’s why my face looks purple, I only wish I was a unicorn
