We all have at least heard of coconut oil, it can be used for cooking, for skin and even for hair. Coconut oil is made of copra or dried coconut flesh. It has many benefits for the body both inside and out. This might be because it is made up of healthy fats including caprylic acid, lauric acid, and capric acid. Extra Virgin unrefined organic coconut oil has the most benefits.
These benefits include:
has antioxidants that help smooth the skin
helps with burns, eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis
great all natural conditioner, can also help with dandruff
great moisturizer and face cleanser
improves digestion by helping absorb vitamins, calcium, and magnesium
helps with blood pressure by increasing HDL
helps with UTIs by acting as a natural antibiotic and clearing bacteria
helps with bruises and speeds up healing process of damaged tissues
forms a protective layers over the infected body part from dust, bacteria, fungi, air
has a natural SPF of 4
filled with vitamin E, vitamin K, and other minerals like iron
In general it is not only filled with fatty acids, 90% saturated fats, but also fatty alcohols. Provides essentials proteins and highly effective in aiding in protein loss. This is one reason why it helps with hair loss and hair re-growth. Excellent massage oil. Effective moisturizer for all skin types, from oily to dry skin.
Here are some of my favorite ways to use coconut oil:
lice and dandruff treatment- massage into scalp and massage into the ends
body oil- apply onto wet skin after a shower and pat dry
cuticle oil- apply at the base of the nails, will also help your manicure last longer
lip balm- natural remedy for chapped lips
makeup brush cleaner- use 2 parts antibacterial soap 1 part coconut oil to clean
makeup remover- easy to remove makeup, especially waterproof makeup
face moisturizer- can be used as a primer under foundation for that smooth skin
body moisturizer- leaves skin glow-y not lotion-y
under eye cream- dab on under eye bags and fine lines
These are just MY favorite ways to use coconut oil. The possibilities are endless. This oil has so many benefits with very little side effects. The main side effect is allergy may occur if you are allergic to coconuts. Always remember when using on skin to do a patch test before using all over.
Pastels, pink palm trees, sprinkles, swings, and of course ice cream! I know what you are thinking a sprinkle pool ?! Yes! a Sprinkle pool! Four floors of ice cream heaven, they have a different flavor on each floor. Every floor not only beautiful but fun to play in! Brings out the inner child and ice cream lover in any one!
Running around eating ice cream, throwing sprinkles I felt like a princess with pink every where! I honestly was in a pastel wonderland. There were different flavors to try on each floor soft serve, melted vanilla, mochi (Japanese ice cream), and chocolate with whipped cream. My favorite was the mochi, I will be getting more soon! Although every floor is beautiful, the best part is you guessed the sprinkle pool. Time is limited and the sprinkles aren’t biodegradable, but it’s a sprinkle pool! Everything was beautiful and eye catching. I was memorized from the moment I walked in to the moment I stepped out the gift shop. It was about much more than ice cream, there were facts all over the walls, there was kinetic sand you can play with, even a ping pong ball table. Theres much more than meets the eye. The ice cream doesn’t taste bad either.
This was a sensory overload. I loved every minute of it. Everyone should experience an ice cream wonderland. I heard they are working on making the sprinkles biodegradable, that shows they are listening to our concerns! Every floor revealed something new and even prettier, you almost didn’t know what to expect! So much creativity went into every detail and who would have thought a museum of ice cream could be so beautiful and tasty at the same time.
Now while Miami is no Napa Valley we do have a hidden gem where you can get away for a little taste of wine country here in our own backyard. Schnebly Redland’s Winery and Brewery has wine, beer, and food. What more can you ask for? Oh yeah amazing views! So not only is it beautiful, there is plenty to do so you won’t be bored, hungry, or sober. Let me start by stating I am no wine expert.
I went with some of my family. We enjoyed wine tasting and dinner. Everything was amazing. If you aren’t a fan of fruity wines this might not be for you. Lucky for me I am. They have everything from Lychee Dolce (lychee wine) to Avovino (avocado wine). You read that right avocado wine, and it’s actually really good. They have Florida inspired wines like Carambola (star fruit wine), Mango, Guava, Coconut, and Passion Fruit wines. Each has a unique flavor and it was hard to choose a favorite. Passion fruit was my favorite, a fruity red wine. They also have a brewery and a restaurant. I cannot wait to go back!

So what makes most of these foods “super foods” is the antioxidants. That means these foods have properties that include anti-aging, protecting the body from cell damage that results from free radicals. This includes heart disease, cancer, and Alzheimer’s. I eat these foods all the time. For example pumpkin seeds as snacks, or cauliflower mashed up ( like mashed potatoes) the possibilities are endless. FYI it doesn’t have to be summer to be healthy! These foods taste fucking AMAZING and are worth a try!
Being a self professed lover of Starbucks and all things unicorn related, I literally FLIPPED MY SHIT when I heard there was a unicorn frappuccino coming my way. Now I am a lover of pink drink and you can see it in previous post, so first off pink drink forever. However this brightly colored flavor changing unicorn concoction is something to try at least once.
This frappuccino is pink with blue stripes and has whipped cream topped with glitter. Can you say kawaii unicorn? It was definitely one of the prettiest drinks I have ever seen. Now for the taste, it does change flavor. It’s like the opposite of a sour patch first it’s sweet then it’s sour. It’s kinda like drinking fruity pebbles. The glitter on top is very sour! Overall not bad, it is only here for a limited time so I will drink it then stick to pink drink.
Make sure to check it out while they are still available. Remember always tip your barista!
Sometimes dreams come true, for some of us those dreams are hello kitty filled dreams. This weekend the Hello Kitty Cafe visited Miami. The original cafe is located in Los Angeles. For those living under a rock Hello Kitty is a character from Japan that children and adults both love. She has her own story, and her own friends that are always up to something.
This weekend the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck came to Miami. The truck has been traveling the United States. As a Hello Kitty Super Fan I couldn’t miss out on all the fun. The truck itself was too cute for words. They offered cookies, macaroons, cakes, a bow shaped water bottle, a mug, a shirt, and a chubby bunny headband bow. I had to grab one of everything, and I was glad I did. The cookies one was a bow, one was Hello Kitty, and the last one was the shape of a Hello Kitty doughnut. The macaroons had bows on them and one had Hello Kitty’s face on it. The cakes were decorated all different Hello Kitty styles. Not only was everything adorable it tasted just as good as it looked. The only thing I have not tasted yet are the cookies because they are wrapped up and you can save them for a while.
I was like a little kid when I walked up to the window. Everything was just perfect. Hello Kitty everything, could you really ask for anything more? All I need now is for them to open one here in Miami or to move to Los Angeles so I can work there. Or just eat everything, either way. HMMMM.

For us Miamians winter in Miami is one maybe two days long, AKA a cold front. This year we didn’t get much cold weather. No season changes, no sweaters were really brought out. Depending where you live you can be grateful or jealous! I know some parts of the US were hit pretty hard with snow!
This weekend it was the perfect weather to enjoy a nice dinner with my parents. As you can tell I get my style and grace from them! It was also a perfect excuse to bring out my over the knee boots. Hey, the cold never bothered me anyways. *Frozen refference*

Are you still feeling a holiday hangover? Maybe gained what feels like a hundred pounds over the holidays? I feel like all I did was eat and drink! I know it’s been a few days but school is still out and I know I am still in a food coma. I have not worn all my lovely new clothes but I have eaten everything in my house.
It only gets cold in Miami for about 2 days out of the year. That happened to occour on NYE this year. To avoid the craziness that is Miami Beach on New Years my boyfriend and I decided to stay home like old people. Thanks anxiety. It’s not like we haven’t been to every club in Miami anyways, no thank you to extra high prices. Stayed in and watched Dick Clark, thanks Mariah Carey for a good laugh! Thanks to the cold weather I got to bring out my boots! I think Bruce likes them better, or is it the flower…
Inspite on the New Year, I have not decided to lose weight. I want to gain weight. A little odd I know. It actually is doctors orders. I have been eating everything and drinking ensure(protein shakes). I am a basic bitch AKA starbucks regular. I also have discovered uber eats, SO MUCH FOOD SO LITTLE TIME. This week I had a place deliver ice cream. That’s right. My favorite has been as their catch phrase says “highly addictive” nitrogen ice cream delivered right to your door. Made fresh still frozen, What more could you ask for?
*basic bitch face and brain freeze not included*
To go with the New Year I did make one chage I am not sure if you can tell in the pictures. I do belive in new years meaning new beginings so I did dye my hair. A little change never hurt no body. I did miss being a red head, back to being BIG RED. So time to dive into 2017 and leave the holidays behind. I still don’t want to as you can tell, but time to polish off the eggnog and get back to work. Get inspired!

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! I hope every one had amazing holiday weekend because I know I did! I was lucky enough to spend Christmas Eve or Noche Buena as we call it in Miami with my extended family and Christmas with my close family. Nothing says holidays like family, anxiety, lots of food and drinking. My mom comes from a big family so we all get together for the holidays. Even though holidays can be stressful at times family is what holds us together, no matter how crazy they can be. Trust me no one is crazier than my family.
Now on Christmas we had a smaller get together at my house with my close family. What is Christmas with out some gifts and cookies? We had my cousin come over and so did my grandmother. Don’t tell anyone but she’s my favorite. I don’t know what I would do with out her. She is the best gift, I’m telling you holidays are all about family. Me and my cousin drive her crazy. My cousin is my mini-me, even though he’s almost my height. He couldn’t be more like me if I gave birth to him. You can’t forget my little brother AKA my best friend. He holds it down for me. BTW I say little brother he’s 6’2 and I’m 5’0 and I’m the older one. Can guess who got the good genetics here? My favorite material gift was a Kate spade purse and a Pandora ring.

The 26th or day after Christmas my mom had a pajama party at the house for all the family at the house. This was quite interesting. There was karaoke and a lot of drinking. I did not sing to say the least. Again lots of family and more drinking. MORE DRINKING. I stole a box of chocolates filled with liquor, I was pretty excited. I was also excited to see cousins of mine that I had not seen in years. I was not so happy to hear them sing but that’s another story. I thought with all this family in town and all these parties my anxiety would be through the roof, but it was quite the opposite. I don’t know if it was keeping my mind busy or if they were keeping me happy but I was actually happy. At the end of the day blood is thicker than water. No matter how crazier they may seem family is the greatest gift of all.
This week I have had a pretty bad cold. First off I went to the doctor of course, but me being the brat that I am was feeling sick and that was not enough. I needed something to make me feel better and not just anything. I knew the perfect thing to make this sicky-poo feel just right. Miami’s own Night Owl Cookies, if you haven’t heard of them you might be living under a rock. Opened by a Florida International University Student these cookies will turn any one into the cookie monster. With cookies made fresh to order and a different menu every night, there is a cookie for everyone. Each cookie is different but helps bring back a childhood nostalgia. For example the Ave Maria cookie made with guava and Maria cookies reminds me of my grandmother cutting up pieces of guava and handing me Maria cookies as a kid. The Couch Potato cookie is perfect for those who like it salty and sweet a chocolate chip cookie topped with potato chips and salted caramel. Night Owl has a storefront but also offers delivery through their website. Definitely turned this sick girls night around.
