Christmas 2k17

Where do I begin? Ho Ho Ho ! In Miami there are too many celebrations to count! I am not a grinch so I do celebrate them all and I am lucky enough to be surounded by family and friends that love me very much!

The first celebration took place with my best friend and her family. This was a Cuban celebration a few days before Christmas known as the San Lazzaro Party. We danced, we drank, we smoked cigars, we truly celebrated. This is my second holiday season with my best friend by my side and that is something to celebrate!

Next up we have Noche Buena, another cuban tradition, also known as Christmas Eve. My family tends to go out the Cuban way. The entire family gets together and roats a pig. We make hot chocolate for the kids, and have adult beverages for the big kids. I enjoy getting together with my family, we are one big family my mom has about 20 cousins. It is nice to come together for the holidays and catch up.

Last but deffinetly not least Christmas Day! I guess I was a good girl this year because Santa brought me everything I asked for! I spent the day relaxing at home with family.  Some of the things I got  were a bath caddy, a bath robe, a bunch of clothes, my dad got a nes (I will be using it). And yes those are BFF mood bracelets, be very jealous. The biggest gift is my animals that clearly remind me how much of a gift they are to me. This holiday season was both tough but a blessing. I am thankful for not only the material things but the family and friends I have in my life to celebrate the season with.

good things come in big packages

The giant golden wonder oh man oh man, where do I begin? The colors, the smell, the fizz, the size alone will take your breath away. This is one massive way to start your Christmas season! It was bigger than my head and weighed more than my dog. It quickly became my new favorite Christmas product. It actually looks like a gift. Only downside, I could not get a pretty picture of this guy because it came damaged in the mail. This however did not take away from my bath.

It’s size alone can leave you staring at it for days, it fizzes for minutes literally. Mine fizzed for about ten minutes. What starts off yellow exterior bursts with colors leaving you with blue and gold water. The scent is not too strong for its giant size, an amazing blend of citrus. The lemon really stuck out to me so I blended it with my lemon melt shower gel from the kitchen. I was blown away by everything about this bath bomb! It’s a great way to help even the biggest grich get into the spirit. I say treat yo self! I will definitely be ordering another one before Christmas!

Lush Christmas 2017

It’s Christmas and that can only mean one thing, LUSH CHRISTMAS!  Not only is it the best seasonal products but the most festive baths! Shown above are only some of the items from my mini lush Christmas haul. Due to unfortunate circumstances my Christmas shopping trip was cut short but no fear! More products and reviews to come! Pictured about are Santa’s Christmas, Rose Jam, Twilight, Christingle, and Snow fairy.

This year Lush is taking a new initiative with naked packaging but I went the traditional route, I have yet to buy my new batches of Rose Jam and Twilight I might give those a naked chance. Santa’s Christmas smells just like vanilla coke, I wasn’t sure if I wanted a bath or to go drink a bunch of cola. I did stock up on the Snow Fairy and Christingle body conditioners, boy can you say smooth skin? Snow Fairy is sweet like cotton candy and Christingle is minty and seriously makes your body tingle. Snow Fairy at first I couldn’t put the top back on fast enough it was way too sweet for me, next thing i know i have a 500 ml of the matching shower gel! It’s like bathing in the sugar, I can understand why some don’t like it, last year not a fan this year I can’t get enough. I use Twighlight almost nightly and have started to love the lavender and minty mix of replacing Sleepy lotion with for the season Christingle.

I also picked up Berry Berry Christmas shower gel, the Twilight Sprinkle jar, Sugar Plum Fairy lip scrub, Man in The Moon bubble bar, and a Giant Golden Wonder bath bomb. Keep your eyes out for more reviews and more bath art and cocktails coming up ! PS i have been using sheet mask lately not lush but totally helping me relax, can be found at Urban Outfitters . I have been posting all my daily baths on my instagram @stardustfunk , give us a follow !

my fur-babies!

When it comes to pets the most important thing is ADOPT DON’T SHOP!  Christmas is a time where families are often given puppies or kittens as gifts. This is all fine and dandy until they grow up, most families don’t prepare for the responsibility and unfortunately they end up at the local shelter. That is where you come in, adopt don’t shop!

I have so many fur babies and I love them all so much. Most of them have been adopted from the Miami Dade Animal Shelter or Out Reach centers. At my home I have 2 dogs and a cat. At my boyfriends home he has 2 dogs. Like I said lot’s of fur babies! They are so happy to be adopted and feel right at home !

Let me introduce you to my crew ! Starting with the newest additon Sherrwood.

sherwood-ballsherwood

Meet Sherwood. He is a Goldendoodle, currently staying with my boyfriends family. He is a beautiful puppy, who loves to play. As seen above he loves tenis balls. He is so smart and cuddly. Just look at those curls! You can say it was love at first tail wag.

Next up is my forever puppy.

nana-popsicle

Meet Nana. This beautiful cockerspaniel keeps boyfriends abuela(grandmother) company at home. We call her a forever puppy because she stayed the same size she never grew up! We named her after the dog in Peter Pan, Nana. I know dogs are not supposed to eat popsicles but who could say no to this cutie?

Next up is Reeses, a true rescue story.

reeses-1reeses-truck

Reeses was rescues from Miamia Dade Animal Services right before Christmas in 2010 by myself as a Christmas gift for my brother as he always wanted a German Sheppard. As I  brought her home we noticed she was sick we took her to 3 different vets that told us she was terminal and we had to put her down. I refused to listen and put down a dog on Christmas so I went back to the Shelter and there they were able to help bring her back to health. Here we are years later and she’s happy healthy and riding in the back of my brothers truck. She sleeps in my brothers room and will not leave his side

Then we got the oldest of the bunch, Coco.

cocoYeah that’s the only picture I can get of her. She’s old but still fiesty. A jack russell that we have had for about 14 years now. She has been the most fun and the most unpredictable dog. She can surf in our pool. She can also tear apart lizzard in half a minute if you let her. In her prime age she would swim and chase you down the pool. Even in her old age she chills out with my cat Bruce and Reeses.

Last but not least Master Bruce Wayne.

bruce-lionbruce-cuddles

The Lion in my bedroom. Master Bruce Wayne, named after of course Batman. He lives with me in my bedroom. He is my first cat, it’s a learning experience, and I love him. He has helped me so much with my anxiety I cannot beging to explain it. He is weird like me I guess. Always remember cats do not abide by the laws of nature( if you catch that reference you are totally awesome).

All my animals are amazing. I have been lucky to be able to adopt these wonderful animals. I encourage you to do the same. It will not only save the life of an animalin need it will give so much more to your life. I can’t imagine my life with out these guys in it. They make day to day life happier one tail wag  or purrrr  at a time.

Holiday Hangover

Are you still feeling a holiday hangover? Maybe gained what feels like a hundred pounds over the holidays? I feel like all I did was eat and drink! I know it’s been a few days but school is still out and I know I am still in a food coma. I have not worn all my lovely new clothes but I have eaten everything in my house.

It only gets cold in Miami for about 2 days out of the year. That happened to occour on NYE this year. To avoid the craziness that is Miami Beach on New Years my boyfriend and I decided to stay home like old people. Thanks anxiety. It’s not like we haven’t been to every club in Miami anyways, no thank you to extra high prices. Stayed in and watched Dick Clark, thanks Mariah Carey for a good laugh! Thanks to the cold weather I got to bring out my boots! I think Bruce likes them better, or is it the flower…

Inspite on the New Year, I have not decided to lose weight. I want to gain weight. A little odd I know. It actually is doctors orders. I have been eating everything and drinking ensure(protein shakes). I am a basic bitch AKA starbucks regular. I also have discovered uber eats, SO MUCH FOOD SO LITTLE TIME. This week I had a place deliver ice cream. That’s right. My favorite has been as their catch phrase says “highly addictive” nitrogen ice cream delivered right to your door. Made fresh still frozen, What more could you ask for?

*basic bitch face and brain freeze not included*

To go with the New Year I did make one chage I am not sure if you can tell in the pictures. I do belive in new years meaning new beginings so I did dye my hair. A little change never hurt no body. I did miss being a red head, back to being BIG RED. So time to dive into 2017 and leave the holidays behind. I still don’t want to as you can tell, but time to polish off the eggnog and get back to work. Get inspired!

Happy Holidays !

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! I hope every one had amazing holiday weekend because I know I did! I was lucky enough to spend Christmas Eve or Noche Buena as we call it in Miami with my extended family and Christmas with my close family. Nothing says holidays like family, anxiety, lots of food and drinking. My mom comes from a big family so we all get together for the holidays. Even though holidays can be stressful at times family is what holds us together, no matter how crazy they can be. Trust me no one is crazier than my family.

Now on Christmas we had a smaller get together at my house with my close family. What is Christmas with out some gifts and cookies? We had my cousin come over and so did my grandmother. Don’t tell anyone but she’s my favorite. I don’t know what I would do with out her. She is the best gift, I’m telling you holidays are all about family. Me and my cousin drive her crazy. My cousin is my mini-me, even though he’s almost my height. He couldn’t be more like me if I gave birth to him. You can’t forget my little brother AKA my best friend. He holds it down for me. BTW I say little brother he’s 6’2 and I’m 5’0 and I’m the older one. Can guess who got the good genetics here? My favorite material gift was a Kate spade purse and a Pandora ring.

Shirt: Adidas Shorts: Hello Kitty

The 26th or day after Christmas my mom had a pajama party at the house for all the family at the house. This was quite interesting. There was karaoke and a lot of drinking. I did not sing to say the least. Again lots of family and more drinking. MORE DRINKING. I stole a box of chocolates filled with liquor, I was pretty excited. I was also excited to see cousins of mine that I had not seen in years. I was not so happy to hear them sing but that’s another story. I thought with all this family in town and all these parties my anxiety would be through the roof, but it was quite the opposite. I don’t know if it was keeping my mind busy or if they were keeping me happy but I was actually happy. At the end of the day blood is thicker than water. No matter how crazier they may seem family is the greatest gift of all.

DIY Last Minute Christmas Gifts

So if you’re like me you are still scrambling to get last-minute gifts for some of those

special some ones on your list. If you’re really like me you want something on a budget and that comes from the heart not from the mall. I got something easy and won’t break your bank. One project is for the females in your life, the other is for the bearded males in your life. Don’t think you can hack these projects? Don’t fret you got this, I have made sure that any one can handle these easy instructions and these ingredients. The first recipe makes a lot so you will have quite a few to give out. The second recipe is so yummy I want to steal it from my boyfriend and use it on my hair.

So first what you need. I made two stops for everything I needed. Fist stop Walmart, second stop Hobby Lobby. I tried to get everything I needed at Walmart and everything I couldn’t find I got at Hobby Lobby. It all depends on what you are willing to spend and the look you are going for. Hobby Lobby has really pretty bottles and the essential oils. Walmart has the epsom salt and mini mason jars at really great prices. I grabbed what I needed from both stores and hurried home to make the gifts.

EASY BATH SALTS

What you need:

1: 2 lbs Epsom Salt (8 lb bag available at walmart)

2: 2 Oz Lavender Essential Oil

3: 2 Oz Rosemary Essential Oil

4: 3 OZ Lavender Buds

5: Glass Bottles

Directions:

1: Add salt in large bowl.

2: Add essential oils and lavender buds and mix together.

3: Once mixed together bottle into glass bottles or 4 oz mini mason jars.

EASY BEARD OIL

What you need:

1: 6 Oz Sweet Almond Oil

2: 2 Oz Jojoba Oil

3: 2 Ml Buckthorn Extract

4: 0.5 Ml Essential Oil

(you can use lavender or cedar wood or a combo of both!)

5: Glass Bottles

Directions:

1: In a container combine oils (almond and jojoba)

2: Add extract and essential oil

3: Pour into glass bottles

Pretty Simple huh? I told you so! These are some easy DIY ideas to give as little presents to your loved ones. . You can always tweak the recipes and make them your own, or to use whatever you have in your home. I love making these as much as I love using them. I think gifts from the heart are more special than store-bought gifts but that’s just me!
