good things come in big packages

The giant golden wonder oh man oh man, where do I begin? The colors, the smell, the fizz, the size alone will take your breath away. This is one massive way to start your Christmas season! It was bigger than my head and weighed more than my dog. It quickly became my new favorite Christmas product. It actually looks like a gift. Only downside, I could not get a pretty picture of this guy because it came damaged in the mail. This however did not take away from my bath.

It’s size alone can leave you staring at it for days, it fizzes for minutes literally. Mine fizzed for about ten minutes. What starts off yellow exterior bursts with colors leaving you with blue and gold water. The scent is not too strong for its giant size, an amazing blend of citrus. The lemon really stuck out to me so I blended it with my lemon melt shower gel from the kitchen. I was blown away by everything about this bath bomb! It’s a great way to help even the biggest grich get into the spirit. I say treat yo self! I will definitely be ordering another one before Christmas!

Lush Christmas 2017

It’s Christmas and that can only mean one thing, LUSH CHRISTMAS!  Not only is it the best seasonal products but the most festive baths! Shown above are only some of the items from my mini lush Christmas haul. Due to unfortunate circumstances my Christmas shopping trip was cut short but no fear! More products and reviews to come! Pictured about are Santa’s Christmas, Rose Jam, Twilight, Christingle, and Snow fairy.

This year Lush is taking a new initiative with naked packaging but I went the traditional route, I have yet to buy my new batches of Rose Jam and Twilight I might give those a naked chance. Santa’s Christmas smells just like vanilla coke, I wasn’t sure if I wanted a bath or to go drink a bunch of cola. I did stock up on the Snow Fairy and Christingle body conditioners, boy can you say smooth skin? Snow Fairy is sweet like cotton candy and Christingle is minty and seriously makes your body tingle. Snow Fairy at first I couldn’t put the top back on fast enough it was way too sweet for me, next thing i know i have a 500 ml of the matching shower gel! It’s like bathing in the sugar, I can understand why some don’t like it, last year not a fan this year I can’t get enough. I use Twighlight almost nightly and have started to love the lavender and minty mix of replacing Sleepy lotion with for the season Christingle.

I also picked up Berry Berry Christmas shower gel, the Twilight Sprinkle jar, Sugar Plum Fairy lip scrub, Man in The Moon bubble bar, and a Giant Golden Wonder bath bomb. Keep your eyes out for more reviews and more bath art and cocktails coming up ! PS i have been using sheet mask lately not lush but totally helping me relax, can be found at Urban Outfitters . I have been posting all my daily baths on my instagram @stardustfunk , give us a follow !

Halloween 2k17

Halloween has so mush to it. The movies, the candy, the zombie frappuccino, the crazy costumes, all of it. You can say it’s my favorite holiday. The zombie frappuccino not so much a fan. It was apple, brain, and ass.  My best friend and I went all out on our costumes, we even got our make-up done. I was a unicorn and she was a nun, pictured above. With Halloween you can go one of two ways dark or magical. I was torn but I went with magical, and was a sparkly pink unicorn. PS the tutu lights up. As with every great party comes the after party. That consists of the best scary movies, the best candies, and of course you top it off with a horror themed bath.

My recovery bath was “Meat the Family” by the mad bombers, pictured above. This GIANT bath bomb was scented leather and roses. With Leather Face on it what a perfect scent. It was giant and turned the water blood-red. Best part is it didn’t stain the tub. It left my skin so soft after the bath, it was truly a skin soothing bomb. It was such a blood bath, in the best way possible. This was a giant fizzer, this bad boy lasted for a few minutes and created beautiful blood-colored water. With such morbid water it had such a beautiful complex scent, leather and roses. It was strong was the perfect mix of floral and manly. Perfect for Halloween.

Fall Full Moon

So right before Hurricane Irma hit Florida (where I live, Miami to be exact) we had a beautiful full moon. Now some of my followers know full moons are kinda a big deal for me ! This was the first full moon of fall, my favorite season so needless to say I went all out. I was also worried about the hurricane so this kinda helped relieve some of the stress ! With the hurricane coming I did have to prep, so please forgive me for not getting the best pictures !

I have become slightly obsessed with this brand witch baby soap, now this is not my first post about them, but they do offer a Spell Box. The spell box includes a bath bomb for each full moon (3) and some awesome extras. The fall box was no different ! It includes the bath bombs specific to each full moon, a soap, a body scrub, a hand salve, and a body oil. The boxes include some instructions and some whitchy extras, for example a spell candle.

This month’s bath bomb was a salted caramel latte, and it came in a coffee cup. Can it get any better? Yes you can! Not only did it smell delicious, my skin has never felt softer. I could not stop rubbing my legs. I picked up more of a salty caramel than anything but hey my skin was so soft I was not complaining  ! I paired this bathbomb with Lush’s Yuzu and Cocoa Shower Cream. A perfect match. For those of you that don’t know it smells of chocolate and oranges. I am devastated that they are discontinuing it !

Now I do something every full moon a little special, I make Full Moon Water. I make it once a month and add it to my baths, use it to water my plants, simply leave it on my altar when I am not using it, ect.

Here is my recipe and the meaning behind the ingredients:

  • A bowl
  • Drinking water
  • Fresh or dried leaves and/or flowers of:
    • lemon – for success
    • mint – for money
    • lavender–psychic powers
    • rose – for love
    • sage – for wisdom

First when the moon rises, set up your altar with the bowl, water, herbs and flowers. Cast the circle in you usual way. Then place your bowl where the moonlight will shine into it and put the herbs in the bowl and pour water over them. Here is where you’re witchy side comes out. Hold out your receptive (non dominant) hand palm-up so the moonlight shines on it. Call out to the moon with these or similar words:

“Mother moon, please share your magic with me. I charge this water, With the power of the full moon, To achieve my dreams. May mint bring me the money To fulfill my goals, And lemon give me success in my endeavors. May lavender amplify my intuition and help me hear the voice of spirit. May rose nourish my heart and help me use my powers with love. May sage clear my mind and help me use my powers with wisdom. With herbs and moonlight This water is charged.”

Finish your ritual as usual and, if possible, leave the water out to steep in the moonlight over night.

Metamorphosis, Lord of Misrule, and Damaged Lush Reviews

purple bath

So after a long  week of partying the best thing to do for your body is load up with water and relax. My favorite way to relax is with a good bath and pamper myself. After all the pool parties and the humid weather of Miami spring break took a toll on me. I could definitely use some time to spoil myself. This week I choose a hair treatment and some muscle soothing bath products all from Lush.

Everyone has their own way of taking care of themselves, some prefer to go to the nail salon others like me can sit in a bath tub for hours. Different products can have different effects on your mood. For examples some bath bombs can help with sleep, while some like the one I chose for this bath can help sooth muscles. I needed some relief after all that dancing! As for my hair treatment I chose one from lush as well, after the pools and beach and usual bad shit I put it through I decided it was time to show it some love and chose the one that sounded most appropriate.

rating: 4/5

This quite odd looking bath bomb is metamorphosis, don’t let it’s grey exterior fool you. The inside is packed full of colors. Once the silver exterior melts away is when the colors really start to pop. It’s round but has a texture on it. The smell is just divine quite spicy, and it lingers for hours. Spicy but in the most subtle way possible. I would recommend this for when you are feeling sore or a bit under the weather. This is also good if you just aren’t into the fruity scents.

rating 5/5

This is a Lush classic scent Lord of Misrule. I love it, spicy, earthy and sweet. This is a green shower cream that will leave your skin soft and feeling moisturized. It is not as spicy as metamorphosis but they are in the same scent family. This can be used as a unisex shower cream. I recommend that everyone own a bottle of LOM at home.

rating 2/5

So after spring break and dying my hair I thought it could use some TLC. I went ahead and ordered the Damaged hair treatment. Let me start by saying I have a lot of long thick hair so I thought this little lollipop looking thing was not going to melt out to cover my hair. Boy was I wrong. There was enough to last me two treatments! The only problem is they must be used fresh. I just melted it down per the instructions on the paper and stirred with the wood thing that’s actually a spoon (COOLEST PART) and globbed it on my hair. The reason I didn’t give it a higher review is due to the fact of the smell, it was gross. I had to add my own lavender essential oil to be able to bear it. After I washed it with normal shampoo it left my hair AMAZING. It did take a while to wash it out.  But after the abuse I put my hair through it needed some lovin.

After me spoiling myself here is a picture of the ultimate spoil a pink drink from Starbucks. No filter so you can see the results of the Damaged hair treatment. More reviews and what not coming at you keep up on twitter and instagram! @stardustfunk

My First Lush Review, Blackberry and Blue Skies

bomb and bubble bar

So like most lush addicts I have started and can’t get enough. When i think of Lush i remember being a kid and walking by the store and just smelling everything with my mom holding my hand. Now that I am old enough to buy “the smelly stuff” it’s dangerous because I want everything. So join me on my journey of reviewing the amazing lush products from Lush Cosmetics, Lush UK, and the Lush Kitchen. This is my first review on two of the products from the regular line available year round.

blackberry bomb

backberry bath bomb ingredients

The first product I am going to review is the Blackberry Bath Bomb. Don’t judge a book by its cover when it comes to this bath bomb. While it may not produce the craziest bath art, you are in for a little surprise, it does release the most mesmerizing scent. The best way to describe it is a musky-sweet scent, and no it does not smell like blackberries. The main scents are bergamot and frankincense. The scent will linger for hours. Not too strong and not to fruity, perfect for relaxation and disconnecting from the world. I used this bomb before bed, having anxiety and insomnia this helped me drift into dreamland.

blue skies and fluffy clouds ingredients

The second product I am reviewing is the Blue Skies and Fluffy Clouds Bubble Bar. (pictured on the top)I tend to bath cocktail and thought these two would go good together since they have similar ingredients and smell quite musky. I only used the tip of this massive frankincense, cinnamon, and patchouli bubble bar. It smelled much stronger out of the bag but mellowed out once crumbled into the bath. It created giant bubbles and added a blue tint to my already purple water. The scent was not too strong and blended well with the blackberry bath bomb. This added to my already relaxing bath, I mean who doesn’t love bubbles?

I now know not to leave lush without at least one Blackberry Bath Bomb. I highly recommend it, I give it a 4/5 stars because it is simple but that scent puts it over the top!!! It really helped me wind down after a stressful day. I will keep the surprise inside a secret for you to find! The Blue Skies and Fluffy Clouds Bubble Bar is massive and has a more herby scent. I recommend it, and give it 4/5 stars because of its size. This bar is for those who aren’t into the fruity blends.

PS. to go with my purple bath and take the relaxation a notch I used the stardustfunk unicorn facemask that’s why my face looks purple, I only wish I was a unicorn

Can’t, I Have to Charge My Crystals

woolf-moon-rune-stone-bath-bombs

Yesterday December 13, 2016 there was not only the most beautiful full moon out but it was also the last full moon for 2016. The moon affects us in a lot of ways. Not only the tides but us as people too. I was having the shittiest day in the longest time. I just keep reminding myself I’m only one panic attack away from the holidays being over. With the full moon out I knew there was only one fix for my winter blues. So with no hesitation I put my crystals to charge under the moonlight, and began to draw up a bath.

This was no ordinary bath, since this was the last full moon I decided to bring out some special bath bombs with crystals in them. The seasonal wolf moon bath bomb smells like apples and pine trees and contains a  crystal. The rune stone bath bomb smells earthy and contains a stone that has a rune on it. Between the moon and my bath i was determined to get myself out of this funk. I dropped in the bath bombs and the rooms instantly smelled like christmas and apples. I opened the window so I could look up at the moon. I started to meditate as I gazed up at the moon. I also used the hex breaker scrub and did an in shower meditation “As I wash off this scrub I was off all negative vibes, and all negativity projected onto me, from this moment on only good will come.” After feeling like a prune from soaking and starting at the moon I grabbed my new crystals excited to find out what the meant and exited the bath.

The rune stone I got means fertility. Not exactly what i was hoping for, last time I got joy. Witches use runes in their practice as a form of divination, and to for tell the future. The crystal in the wolf moon bath bomb is a citrine crystal. Thank you so much to Marlaena at Witch Baby Soap for the kind words and the information! These crystals are known for personal power, and drawing in positivity. I did and do feel a lot better after meditating under the moon, charging my crystals, and taking that bath.
