My skincare routine

Skincare 101 : My skin has been glowing lately. So I’m going to share my routine it’s nothing too elaborate. The two most important things: drink water, and always wash your face if you wear makeup!

Step 1: Face wash

I alternate between face washes. I exfoliate once or twice a week. I use the oil cleanser when I wear makeup. I use the glycolic wash in between.

Step 2 : Face mask

I like to use a face mask at least once a week, I find it so relaxing if I could I would use one everyday. I choose my mask depending on how my skin is feeling, either dry or oily. I love sheet masks or clay masks.

Step 3 : Face serum

I usually use one serum for the morning and one for before I go to bed. I use the starpotion in the mornings, it has a nutty smell to it. I use the vitamin C at night.

Step 4 : Toner

I usually spritz my face when it’s feeling run down. I also use it on the go as a face cleanser. Super refreshing after a workout!

soak and unwind

Whipped soap? I was so intrigued I had to order it. Boy am I glad I did. So soft on the skin with gentle exfoliating, The whipped salt scrub is exfoliating with a slight lather. i was excited to try a different brand and switch things up. I also ordered an aloe lotion, light and the scent lasts for hours without being too heavy or over bearing. The best part ? The order came wtih a little spoon to scoop out the soap.

Kimono Flower – Jasmine petals, mandarin, bergamot, raspberry, ylang ylang, gardenia and pink orchid

This lotion was a light citrus and jasmine blend. Glides on smooth and doesn’t feel too heavy. Perfect for after the shower. Reminds me of the perfect spring afternoon.

IMG_9162

Back To Black – Fresh earth aka dirt blended with garden mint, basil, lemon blossom and sage

I personally love to exfoliate so I was excited to add a whipped scrub to my collection. The black sea salt is gentle on the skin and creates a slight lather. There is a slight minty scent, I picked up more of the sage.

img_9160.jpg

Blue Skies – Citrus, anise, jasmine, lavandin, warm musk and cedarwood

This whipped soap had some jojoba beads and an embed in it. It was really cute. I was expecting it to smell more like the lush version of blue skies fluffy clouds’ but this is not bad. The cedarwood and citrus blend together nicely.

Bubble Gum Machine – Sweet and juicy bubble gum

The best for last! Look at those layers, blue, pink and yellow! Smells just like bubble gum. Good enough to eat. This was definitely my favorite of the bunch. I have been leaning towards sweeter scents lately, not sure why. The colors are beautiful too. This one is packed full of moisture and screams happiness!

I was pleased with my haul of soak and unwind   some of the scents were more musky than I hoped but overall I do enjoy whipped soap. I am glad to have tried out this vendor. Quick shipping and good products.. I love how soft my skin feels. I also love using them as an alternative to shaving cream. They really are versatile and smell pretty amazing.

Lush Valentines 2k18

UNICORN HORN

My favorite lavender and neroli the two scents that make me happiest in the world. Oh and unicorns what makes me even happier. Yeah you can see by the look on my face how much i’m enjoying it.

LOVE BOAT

A newbie- rose and citrus reminds me of rose jam and lush pulled out all the stops to make it a LOVE boat with hearts everywhere. The pink on the front is the shape of a heart and it has tiny hearts on the bottom. This boat is a fruity and floral delight.

WHOLE LOTTA LOVE

Bubbleroon- rose, lemongrass and jasmine is what makes this really special. Dusted with gold glitter what is there not to love? Kiss dry skin good-bye.

HEART OF ENLIGHTENED EXPECTATION

Bubble bar melt-jasmine, rose, and bergamot all in a bubble bath melt? A lot to put into what seems to be lush’s longest product name. Very floral and perfum-y but not over powering.

I loved all the first impressions of the products. Take a look at my first you tube video, make sure to subscribe, below for more:

Lush Delight Bath Oil

Lush introduced the US to their skin loving bath oils. Now these had been available through the Lush kitchen and Lush UK. For those of us over the pond this gives us more chances to see them up close before purchasing or risking them melting in shipping! I had ordered a bunch of bath oils and had only tried two and did not like them very much. So I am giving them another try!

I decided to give delight bath oil a try before giving up on lush’s bath oils all together. I mean with all the skin loving butters packed into these little guys I couldn’t resist. Delight is lemon scented. A sparkly, spicy little guy. I paired him with snow fairy, for a very sparkly, sweet and spicy, citrusy bath. I made sure the water was really hot, to ensure it would melt the bath oil, then dropped it in. At first it sank to the bottom and all the glitter fell off and also sank to the bottom. It took a while to disolve, there were beads of oil slowly forming on the top of the water but any one that knows me knows how impatient I am. So I grabbed the ball of cocoa butter and rubbed it all over, paying special attention to the areas the needed some extra TLC.  This left my skin so smooth, I didn’t need any oil or lotion after. Perfect for winter months or dry patches.

I am glad I gave these bath oils another chance. I am realizing that everything I hate with Lush at second sniff or second try I actually do love. Snow fairy hated it, now I am actually using it a lot. These bath oils, I have so 2 buckets filled with every bath oil that lush has to offer and I have had them sitting there because I didn’t think they were useful. Boy was I wrong. I am excited to start using them more. Stay tuned for more blog post about these lovely bath oils.

Lushmas Reviews 2k17

With the new Valentines rage just being released I had to review my favorite products from the lush Christmas range 2017. There were some old favorites and some new ones. If you follow my instagram you have seen me trying these babies out. I have had some mixed feelings about products but have come to love most of them!

Cristingle Body Conditioner- Just thinking about this minty body conditioner gives me chills. I stocked up on this lovely cooling sensation. I can’t get enough. It’s amazing on its own but even better for bath cocktails. Warning this contains menthol so it does make you freezing cold. If you have a cold, suffer from migraines or body aches this is your go to! I cannot live with out this in my bathroom!

Twilight Shower Gel- I get sleepy just thinking about this amazing shower gel. Another staple in my collection. As someone who suffers from insomnia I cannot live without twilight shower gel, sleepy lotion, twilight solid perfume, twilight body splash… you get the idea! This intoxicating lavender and vanilla will have you falling into dreamland before you know it. I am seriously in love with this purple masterpiece. For us that stay up all night, this will help not only sleep better but make bath time 10000 times better.

Santa’s Christmas Shower Cream- This shower cream will have you not only wanting to jump into Santa’s sleigh but wanting to chug some vanilla coke. I couldn’t believe how similar they smelled, like a spicy vanilla coke. Since it is a shower cream it leaves the skin more moisturized and is perfect for winter. I was pleasantly surprised by this refreshing new Christmas staple and will be using it even in the summer months.

Snow Fairy Shower Gel- I could not get the top on this sugary scented sparkly gel fast enough when I first got my hands on it. As you can see I have the 500 ml bottle. So naturally I gave it another try in a bath cocktail and it started to grow on me. So much pink cotton candy scented sparkles in one big bottle ! You can say I have a love hate relationship!

Snow Fairy Body Conditioner- After falling for the pink sugary shower gel I couldn’t help myself and grab the matching body conditioner. This bad gal holds in so much moisture and the scent lasts so much longer than the shower gel. I thought it was going to be way too sweet of a scent but it really does blend well and makes skin feel sooo soft. Say good-bye to rough spots and hello to cotton candy smooth skin.

Man on The Moon Bubble Bar- Can you say the most adorable bubble bar ever made? So I am biased towards neroli scents, he was already a winner in my book. This is a bright citruis-neroli blend and is a perfect pick me up for when you are in a funk. I tried him out and I couldn’t help but fall in love! I have about 15 in my lush collection now. The amount of bubbles that come from this one little guy is unbelievable! Not only crazy bubbles but I did feel this bar did soften up my skin. This massive mustache wearing fellow might be my new favorite bubble bar…

Christmas 2k17

Where do I begin? Ho Ho Ho ! In Miami there are too many celebrations to count! I am not a grinch so I do celebrate them all and I am lucky enough to be surounded by family and friends that love me very much!

The first celebration took place with my best friend and her family. This was a Cuban celebration a few days before Christmas known as the San Lazzaro Party. We danced, we drank, we smoked cigars, we truly celebrated. This is my second holiday season with my best friend by my side and that is something to celebrate!

Outfit details:

Jacket: vintage leather borrowed from my aunt

Skirt: zara

Boots: marc fisher

Next up we have Noche Buena, another cuban tradition, also known as Christmas Eve. My family tends to go out the Cuban way. The entire family gets together and roats a pig. We make hot chocolate for the kids, and have adult beverages for the big kids. I enjoy getting together with my family, we are one big family my mom has about 20 cousins. It is nice to come together for the holidays and catch up.

Body Suit: forever 21

Jeans: express

Last but deffinetly not least Christmas Day! I guess I was a good girl this year because Santa brought me everything I asked for! I spent the day relaxing at home with family.  Some of the things I got  were a bath caddy, a bath robe, a bunch of clothes, my dad got a nes (I will be using it). And yes those are BFF mood bracelets, be very jealous. The biggest gift is my animals that clearly remind me how much of a gift they are to me. This holiday season was both tough but a blessing. I am thankful for not only the material things but the family and friends I have in my life to celebrate the season with.

good things come in big packages

The giant golden wonder oh man oh man, where do I begin? The colors, the smell, the fizz, the size alone will take your breath away. This is one massive way to start your Christmas season! It was bigger than my head and weighed more than my dog. It quickly became my new favorite Christmas product. It actually looks like a gift. Only downside, I could not get a pretty picture of this guy because it came damaged in the mail. This however did not take away from my bath.

It’s size alone can leave you staring at it for days, it fizzes for minutes literally. Mine fizzed for about ten minutes. What starts off yellow exterior bursts with colors leaving you with blue and gold water. The scent is not too strong for its giant size, an amazing blend of citrus. The lemon really stuck out to me so I blended it with my lemon melt shower gel from the kitchen. I was blown away by everything about this bath bomb! It’s a great way to help even the biggest grich get into the spirit. I say treat yo self! I will definitely be ordering another one before Christmas!

Lush Christmas 2017

It’s Christmas and that can only mean one thing, LUSH CHRISTMAS!  Not only is it the best seasonal products but the most festive baths! Shown above are only some of the items from my mini lush Christmas haul. Due to unfortunate circumstances my Christmas shopping trip was cut short but no fear! More products and reviews to come! Pictured about are Santa’s Christmas, Rose Jam, Twilight, Christingle, and Snow fairy.

This year Lush is taking a new initiative with naked packaging but I went the traditional route, I have yet to buy my new batches of Rose Jam and Twilight I might give those a naked chance. Santa’s Christmas smells just like vanilla coke, I wasn’t sure if I wanted a bath or to go drink a bunch of cola. I did stock up on the Snow Fairy and Christingle body conditioners, boy can you say smooth skin? Snow Fairy is sweet like cotton candy and Christingle is minty and seriously makes your body tingle. Snow Fairy at first I couldn’t put the top back on fast enough it was way too sweet for me, next thing i know i have a 500 ml of the matching shower gel! It’s like bathing in the sugar, I can understand why some don’t like it, last year not a fan this year I can’t get enough. I use Twighlight almost nightly and have started to love the lavender and minty mix of replacing Sleepy lotion with for the season Christingle.

I also picked up Berry Berry Christmas shower gel, the Twilight Sprinkle jar, Sugar Plum Fairy lip scrub, Man in The Moon bubble bar, and a Giant Golden Wonder bath bomb. Keep your eyes out for more reviews and more bath art and cocktails coming up ! PS i have been using sheet mask lately not lush but totally helping me relax, can be found at Urban Outfitters . I have been posting all my daily baths on my instagram @stardustfunk , give us a follow !

FOMO- don’t be jelly

Lush recently released a brand new line of Jelly products. This includes some jelly bath bombs and some jelly face masks. I have been lucky enough to try them both out. Today I am ranting and raving about FOMO a new jelly face mask they released. Now the major difference in these mask is the shelf life. The old masks had an average shelf life of one week while the jelly masks have a shelf life of about four weeks. To me this is a big difference, since they last longer you tend to get more bang for your buck.

I went into my local Lush and asked a million questions and the lovely lady helped me pick the right mask for me! I usually tend to have red skin so she recommended FOMO to help calm the redness and sooth my skin. For those of you that don’t know FOMO means fear of missing out. Let me tell you, you don’t want to miss out on this face mask. It smells amazing! I could not wait to get home and lather some on.

My question was HOW?! Grab a dime size piece and massage it between your dry hands and BAM ready to apply to your face. The jelly will make your face feel so smooth. FOMO has rose and chamomile making not only smell good but feel just as good. I was worried that it would be hard to wash off, but it was easy to wash off with a wash cloth.  I was so relaxed after this mask. My skin was so smooth, soft, and less red.

Fall Full Moon

So right before Hurricane Irma hit Florida (where I live, Miami to be exact) we had a beautiful full moon. Now some of my followers know full moons are kinda a big deal for me ! This was the first full moon of fall, my favorite season so needless to say I went all out. I was also worried about the hurricane so this kinda helped relieve some of the stress ! With the hurricane coming I did have to prep, so please forgive me for not getting the best pictures !

I have become slightly obsessed with this brand witch baby soap, now this is not my first post about them, but they do offer a Spell Box. The spell box includes a bath bomb for each full moon (3) and some awesome extras. The fall box was no different ! It includes the bath bombs specific to each full moon, a soap, a body scrub, a hand salve, and a body oil. The boxes include some instructions and some whitchy extras, for example a spell candle.

This month’s bath bomb was a salted caramel latte, and it came in a coffee cup. Can it get any better? Yes you can! Not only did it smell delicious, my skin has never felt softer. I could not stop rubbing my legs. I picked up more of a salty caramel than anything but hey my skin was so soft I was not complaining  ! I paired this bathbomb with Lush’s Yuzu and Cocoa Shower Cream. A perfect match. For those of you that don’t know it smells of chocolate and oranges. I am devastated that they are discontinuing it !

Now I do something every full moon a little special, I make Full Moon Water. I make it once a month and add it to my baths, use it to water my plants, simply leave it on my altar when I am not using it, ect.

Here is my recipe and the meaning behind the ingredients:

  • A bowl
  • Drinking water
  • Fresh or dried leaves and/or flowers of:
    • lemon – for success
    • mint – for money
    • lavender–psychic powers
    • rose – for love
    • sage – for wisdom

First when the moon rises, set up your altar with the bowl, water, herbs and flowers. Cast the circle in you usual way. Then place your bowl where the moonlight will shine into it and put the herbs in the bowl and pour water over them. Here is where you’re witchy side comes out. Hold out your receptive (non dominant) hand palm-up so the moonlight shines on it. Call out to the moon with these or similar words:

“Mother moon, please share your magic with me. I charge this water, With the power of the full moon, To achieve my dreams. May mint bring me the money To fulfill my goals, And lemon give me success in my endeavors. May lavender amplify my intuition and help me hear the voice of spirit. May rose nourish my heart and help me use my powers with love. May sage clear my mind and help me use my powers with wisdom. With herbs and moonlight This water is charged.”

Finish your ritual as usual and, if possible, leave the water out to steep in the moonlight over night.
