Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! I hope every one had amazing holiday weekend because I know I did! I was lucky enough to spend Christmas Eve or Noche Buena as we call it in Miami with my extended family and Christmas with my close family. Nothing says holidays like family, anxiety, lots of food and drinking. My mom comes from a big family so we all get together for the holidays. Even though holidays can be stressful at times family is what holds us together, no matter how crazy they can be. Trust me no one is crazier than my family.

Now on Christmas we had a smaller get together at my house with my close family. What is Christmas with out some gifts and cookies? We had my cousin come over and so did my grandmother. Don’t tell anyone but she’s my favorite. I don’t know what I would do with out her. She is the best gift, I’m telling you holidays are all about family. Me and my cousin drive her crazy. My cousin is my mini-me, even though he’s almost my height. He couldn’t be more like me if I gave birth to him. You can’t forget my little brother AKA my best friend. He holds it down for me. BTW I say little brother he’s 6’2 and I’m 5’0 and I’m the older one. Can guess who got the good genetics here? My favorite material gift was a Kate spade purse and a Pandora ring.

The 26th or day after Christmas my mom had a pajama party at the house for all the family at the house. This was quite interesting. There was karaoke and a lot of drinking. I did not sing to say the least. Again lots of family and more drinking. MORE DRINKING. I stole a box of chocolates filled with liquor, I was pretty excited. I was also excited to see cousins of mine that I had not seen in years. I was not so happy to hear them sing but that’s another story. I thought with all this family in town and all these parties my anxiety would be through the roof, but it was quite the opposite. I don’t know if it was keeping my mind busy or if they were keeping me happy but I was actually happy. At the end of the day blood is thicker than water. No matter how crazier they may seem family is the greatest gift of all.
